About

S.K. Oshi

S.K. Oshi is an author of science fiction who writes stories about human values and beliefs in faraway worlds. As a professional futurist, he enjoys building complex worlds in which alternative technologies, political structures, and complex characters get entangled in unique ways and create settings for timeless human struggles: belonging, identity, love, justice, and faith.

His writing is shaped, in part, by his work as a scholar and practitioner of design. He holds a Ph.D. in Digital Media from Georgia Institute of Technology, and has taught interaction design, futures, and philosophy, both in formal and informal classrooms.

S.K. is originally from Uzbekistan, a Muslim-majority multicultural country in the heart of Central Asia, a region with ancient and complex history that was once the center of a global civilization. His name is derived from the word Osh, a city in Central Asia, home to many of his ancestors and extended family. He currently resides in the suburbs of Atlanta with his family and two dogs. In his free time, S.K. enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and experimenting with digital art.
